Hioki Debuts Against Roop at UFC 137

The UFC announced Saturday that newly signed Japanese featherweight Hatsu Hioki (24-4-2) - who is currently ranked #2 in the world at 145lbs on most accredited ranking outlets - will make his promotion debut against George Roop (12-7-1) at UFC 137 - St. Pierre vs. Diaz, October 29, 2011, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hioki (27) has finished twelve opponents by way of submission, and vacated both his Shooto and Sengoku world titles to try his hand stateside. He was last defeated by fellow UFC talent Michihiro Omigawa by split decision in November of 2009.
